We took Bailey to Holiday World over my birthday weekend knowing she would just love it! She was so excited when we got to the hotel. She jumped up and down and ran around like a crazy person and couldn’t wait to get into the indoor pool, which she stayed in for about 1 ½ hours and would have stayed longer had they not been closing it down for the night. She loved the hotel room, except for the bathroom (she wanted to know why the toilet was broken because it was a standard public toilet with the split in the front).
The rides the next morning took some getting used to though. She didn’t like the idea of someone else helping her onto the ride and one of us not standing there right beside her for the whole thing (she’s used to carousel rides that allow adults to stand while the child rides). She did alright on the rides where she could sit in something (like the fish, or the canoe, or the planes), but she didn’t like the carousel ones (horses and seahorses) where she had to hold onto the bar. I don’t think she felt very secure.
She rode a couple bigger ones with Tony (some of them require a height of 36” and she is 37”), but she didn’t really care for them. She would say she liked them afterwards, but the whole time she was buried in Tony’s side not looking at anything. It was definitely amusing to watch, but I really thought she’d like the whole thing more than she did—probably because I do. As I’ve said in previous posts, though, she is Tony made over, and he’s a little on the cautious side (and yes, that’s me trying to be nice) when it comes to roller coasters and such. She did, however, love the dressed up people, especially the one that looked like a dog. She hugged that thing quite a bit. I usually found those things a little frightening and would much rather have been twirled around at a ridiculous speed in a big hunk of metal than go up and hug the thing, but again, she is more Tony than me.
Here’s a link to the pictures from Holiday World.
