My little chatterboxes

Not only does Bailey talk a mile a minute, Michael has recently decided he wants to say everything instead of signing or pointing ... makes it kind of difficult when he's not so great with consonants. Vowels are good, but most of the consonants sound pretty similar, which seems to lead to a lot of frustration with me trying to figure it all out.

For example, he calls Bailey "dee dee" instead of "sissy" ... not to be confused with "dink dink" [drink] "dada" or "doe" [dog]. Some things that are really clear are "mama" and "more" (he gets a 5/5 on his chunky monkey status. To say he is a big boy is a slight understatement.). If he wants apple juice, he'll say "bapple" and if he wants up, it comes out "bup."

He's really great at saying "night night." He is definitely our better sleeper. If he is tired, he just heads for the stairs or tries to pull me toward the stairs and says "night night." He is usually pretty good about not fighting it.

"Papaw" has been one of his clearest words from the start, but truck, duck and stuck all sound like "duck," unless he's very vulgar and I'm just giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Really, though, it's pretty fun. I love that he actually tries now instead of just crying. Don't get me wrong, he does his fair share, but he definitely tries harder than he used to.
